How is Sermorelin used in research?

Sermorelin is a 29-amino acid synthetic peptide analog of GHRH(1-29), supplied as a lyophilized reference standard for in-vitro receptor-activation assays, structural analysis, and analytical method development. The 29-residue sequence corresponds to the N-terminal fragment of endogenous growth hormone-releasing hormone and is the minimal sequence that retains full binding activity at the GHRH receptor.

At the molecular level, sermorelin is studied as a GHRH-receptor ligand in in-vitro receptor-binding assays conducted in anterior pituitary somatotroph cell-culture systems. Binding activates the Gs-adenylyl cyclase-cAMP-PKA signaling cascade, which is tracked with standard biochemical readouts (cAMP accumulation assays, PKA-substrate phosphorylation panels).
